How to Calculate pH
The pH is calculated based on the concentration of hydrogen ions ($[H^+]$) in a solution. The formula is:
pH = -log10[$H^+$]
Because the scale is logarithmic, a pH of 3 is ten times more acidic than a pH of 4. This calculator allows you to input the molarity (moles per liter) of the hydrogen ions to instantly determine the pH and pOH levels.
